Crafting a Seamless Basement Addition in Princeton, TX - Phase 1

In Princeton, TX, a client approached us with an exciting request: to expand their living space with a new addition featuring a basement foundation. However, as with many unique projects, unforeseen challenges arose, requiring careful planning and innovative solutions to bring their vision to life.

Tackling Site-Specific Challenges

The first step was to meet with the client onsite to address any discrepancies between the plans and the actual conditions. One significant issue was how the new basement would connect to the main foundation. The original plans called for partial demolition of the existing structure, but the client opted against it, necessitating a change in approach.

We explored several options to ensure the integrity of the existing structure:

• Adjusting the addition’s position by several feet.
• Tunneling under the existing foundation to complete the basement wall and waterproofing.

After careful consideration, the client chose to move the addition over. To ensure safety and stability during the excavation, our team will spray a gunite concrete wall on the dirt supporting the existing foundation, creating a secure environment to build the new basement.
