A strong, durable concrete apron can make all the difference when adding value and functionality to a hobby shop. In Grandview, TX, we completed a project for a customer who needed a reliable surface in front of their shop to handle everyday use and provide long-lasting durability.
The project involved pouring a 25ft by 30ft concrete apron in front of the shop, designed to withstand the test of time. We used 5 inches of 3000 PSI concrete, which offers the right balance of strength and durability for this type of application. To ensure even greater structural integrity, we reinforced the concrete with #4 rebar at 18 inches on center each way, giving it the resilience to handle frequent use.
A critical part of the process was saw-cutting expansion joints every 12 feet in both directions. These expansion joints help manage the natural movement of concrete, preventing cracks and extending the surface lifespan. Focusing on details like proper reinforcement and precise saw cuts, we ensured the finished product was functional and built to last.
The newly poured concrete apron offers a clean, polished look that adds to the shop’s appeal while providing a sturdy, long-lasting surface. Whether for parking or working on hobby projects, the apron is now ready to serve the customer’s needs for years to come.
