When it comes to industrial construction, our precision and reliability need to be as solid as the concrete we pour. That's why when a major pharmaceutical fulfillment facility was in dire need of specialized concrete work, our team stepped up to the challenge.
This was no run of the mill distribution facility. It was a tilt-wall building that would serve as a high-security hub for storing and distributing millions of dollars' worth of medications. The project wasn't just about updating the infrastructure of the building; it required intricate planning because this facility needed continuous power supply for critical operations — no room for error or downtime here.
The project had two main elements. The first was a robust foundation capable of supporting heavy-duty generators vital to keeping lights on round-the-clock. We poured an eight-inch thick foundation directly adjoining the exterior of the facility. It's not every day you're asked to create something that will underpin such essential equipment in an industry where precision is paramount.
The second part of the project was to create precise concrete cutouts for new electrical infrastructure. Essentially it was a remodeling project, but on an industrial scale. Part of our assignment included performing pour backs—a process which may sound simple but requires significant skill. This involves refilling cutouts so precisely that they blend seamlessly into the existing floor.
This industrial concrete job went beyond mere installation; it demanded detailed coordination among various subcontractors. As owner Ernie Weaver noted:
"We were able to come in and meet their deadlines... We're not 'call us when you’re ready' kind of guys—we'll work around other people."
That flexibility became one key advantage we offered over competitors—our ability to seamlessly integrate into an ongoing operation without causing disruptions or delays proved invaluable.
It didn’t stop there though; offering top-notch service made us stand out even more prominently within this field:
"Interface well with other subs... It’s a huge sales proposition that we have," highlighted Ernie Weaver. when discussing how effortlessly our crew fit into the puzzle being pieced together by different teams working simultaneously on-site.
Being nimble yet reliable has always been part and parcel since day one here—and watching another complex project come together thanks to our committed team members was rewarding.
Our approach wasn’t just about pouring concrete—it was strategic craftsmanship meant to ensure lasting integrity throughout this large industrial space filled with life-saving drugs awaiting dispatch across many stores in the Dallas and Fort Worth area.
