Industrial Project in Hillsboro, TX – Phase 2

Following The Truck Dock Construction - Phase 2 of the industrial project in Hillsboro, TX, marked another significant milestone in creating this state-of-the-art 60,000-square-foot facility. With precision, efficiency, and attention to detail, our team tackled every step to ensure a seamless and successful outcome.

Precision Layout: Building the Foundation for Accuracy

Given the scale of the project, precision was critical. Using advanced total station equipment, we meticulously laid out the site. With numerous anchor bolts and piers to align, our team ensured that every measurement was exact, setting the stage for success.

The Pier Process: Stability from the Ground Up

We prepared the pile cap holes, measuring 5 feet by 5 feet and 2 feet deep. The pier truck then drilled piers ranging from 18 inches to 48 inches in diameter and reaching a depth of approximately 35 feet. Once drilled, the piers were poured with concrete to provide a stable foundation.

Perimeter Footings and Laser Grading

The next steps involved setting forms and digging the perimeter footings. To ensure a precise slab, we used laser grading for the entire foundation. On a project of this size, even minor inaccuracies in grading can lead to significant material costs, so this step was essential to optimize efficiency.

Vapor Barriers, Rebar, and Final Preparations

With the grading complete, we installed a vapor barrier and laid the rebar. Our team tied the cages for the perimeter beams and pier caps, set the brick ledge, and carefully positioned anchor bolts for the structural beams. Each detail was double-checked before passing the final inspection.

The 1,200-Yard Pour: A Smooth and Perfect Finish

The concrete pour began early at 1 a.m. and continued non-stop for approximately 36 hours. During the pour, laser grading was utilized to maintain precise levels, ensuring a perfectly flat and durable floor. This phase required 1,200 yards of concrete. After the pour, we used bull floats, trowel machines, and pan machines to achieve an exceptionally smooth and level finish. The result was a perfectly flat and durable floor that met the highest standards.

Why This Matters

Phase 2 of this industrial project demonstrates the importance of precision, planning, and expertise in construction. From laser grading to advanced finishing techniques, EW Enterprise ensured that every detail was executed flawlessly to meet the demands of our client’s operations.
