Transforming a Medical Facility in McKinney with Expert Concrete Solutions

When a medical facility in McKinney expanded its operations, EW Enterprise was brought in to handle the extensive concrete work required to support the renovations. From demolition to precise structural foundations, our team executed every phase, ensuring the project met the highest standards.

Extensive Demolition for a New Vision

One of the first steps in the project involved demolishing several thousand square feet of concrete, both inside and outside the building. This was necessary to accommodate various structural changes, including:

• Freezer foundations
• Plumbing and electrical trenches
• New doorways and ADA-compliant areas
• Modified paving, parking areas, and steps

Each demolition aspect was carefully planned and executed to make way for critical facility improvements.

Precision in Freezer Foundation Construction 

A key element of the project was constructing a highly customized freezer foundation. Because the prefabricated freezer was being installed, the foundation required exceptionally tight tolerances to ensure a perfect fit. Our team executed this with precision, reinforcing the structure's reliability and durability.

Dumpster Foundation and Truck Ramp Modifications

In addition to the freezer foundation, we built a sturdy dumpster foundation, requiring drilled piers for enhanced structural integrity.

We also addressed major modifications to the truck ramp by:

• Tearing out the existing ramp
• In-filling with large gravel
• Pouring paving over the top for a seamless surface
• Modifying and reinforcing structural concrete around the ramp to close up the building effectively

Structural Piers and Seamless Foundation Work

Structural integrity was a key focus throughout the project. We installed piers for the dumpster foundation, steps, and paving areas requiring additional support. Inside the building, we reinforced electrical and plumbing trenches by epoxying new rebar and repouring concrete, creating a seamless, durable foundation.
