Dallas Basement Foundation: Floor Pour

With the soldier piers successfully installed, we turned our attention to pouring the foundation slab of the basement and garage.

The basement will be at the back of the property. The garage is located directly in front of the basement, sharing the same concrete slab. If you look closely, you can see where the slab drops several inches–that’s where the garage ends and the basement begins.

We formed up the perimeter of the foundation, and reinforced the slab with rebar spaced at 12 inches. The pad is five inches thick, and has a 12 inch thick footing at the perimeter, making for a very solid home foundation.

We also poured the footing for the retaining walls, which extend out from the foundation toward the street. 

After successfully pouring the foundation and installing basement drainage, it was time to start building basement walls!
